The Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs and Cumberland County Veterans Service Office will sponsor a special veterans outreach event in Crossville Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cumberland County Community Complex on Livingston Rd.
The program will focus on providing information to veterans and their families on available federal, state and local benefits and how to connect with local community resources. Presentations will be presented on military to civilian resume writing (from 8 to 10 a.m.), estate planning, Affordable Care Act versus VA Healthcare, Medicare, VA benefits for veterans and survivors and the Upper Cumberland Veterans Cemetery Project.
Veterans are asked to bring a copy of their DD-214 or discharge papers to assist in determining benefit eligibility. Several state and local agencies will be present to provide benefit assistance and information. Refreshments will be available.
