Ladies Club annual spring fashion show was a success

CROSSVILLE — Living up to the theme of ‘Sizzle with Style’ Sue Brown and Linda Chiaramonte, Co-Chairs, oversaw a successful Spring Fashion Show for members and guests of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club. On April 3, over 300 delighted women (and a few men) viewed this season’s latest spring, sport and resort wear.

Colorful spring flowers on the tables and lush greenery decorating the room provided by major sponsors, Heartland Florist and Landscape Solutions, our neighbors on Peavine Rd, assured us spring had arrived.

Modeling spring fashions and accessories from Collage, The Screen Door and FG Golf and Tennis Shops were: Terry Boylson, Liz Clark, Sharon Gee, Tina Geisler, Barbara LeFevre, Jackie McAfee, Marti Miller, Sheri Prediger, Marilyn Seastrand and Julie Steele.  Stylists from Eclipse Salon were on hand for last minute primping as was make-up artist Jean Elizabeth Kozolowski.

To the sounds of background music by the talented Brian Bacon, handsome tuxedoed spouses, Michael Brown and George Chiaramonte, manned the runway as the ladies strutted their stuff.

A highlight of the day was the award of 23 themed gift baskets provided by the generous contributions of club members and local businesses. Neighbors, card groups and committees vied to come up with tempting selections which guests had the opportunity to take home. Over $2,600 was raised from this effort alone, a testament to the excitement with which the baskets were received.

The guests had a delicious meal, were entertained royally, learned what is new for spring and summer, enjoyed a much anticipated spring outing and helped raise $6,100 for the Pam Biggs Scholarship Fund in one day! This is truly an example of the adage "many hands make light work," as our grandmothers said. In June, 19 deserving students from Cumberland County will be at the luncheon meeting to receive their scholarship grants courtesy of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club.
