Little lakes hold big surprises

CROSSVILLE — Fairfield Glade Bass Club held it's Tournament 14 on Lakes Canterbury and Catherine and fishing was much better than the last tournament held on the same lakes. A total of 24 fishermen participated, catching and releasing a total of 90. Fishermen were really surprised when John Smith caught the largest bass of the year on Lake Canterbury. His bass measured 23 and a half inches and weighed 6.74 pounds. Way to go John! The results of the tournament are as follows:

First Place – Tony Danhelka and John Smith with three bass weighing 7.62 pounds.

Second Place – Jim Webb and Jim McCulloch having five bass with a weight of 5.79 pounds.

Third Place – Ed Wolters and Frank Fiedler with five bass weighing 5.25 pounds.

Fourth Place – Lee Murray and Joe Boggio with five bass weighing 4.49 pounds.

Fifth Place – Tom Teall and John Siemer with five bass weighing 4.19 pounds.

Big Bass Honors went to John Smith with his 23 and a half inch 6.74 pound lunker.

With only one tournament left in the Club's tournament year the standings are as follows:

First Place – Ron Riccetti with 936 points

Second Place – Lee Murray with 923 points

Third Place – Jim Webb with 746 points

Fourth Place – Ed Wolters with 741 points

Fifth Place – John Upp with 716 points

You will note that First and Second places are only separated by 13 points, which translates to one bass weighing 1.3 pounds– in other words, Angler of the Year is still up for grabs. Good Luck to both fishermen.
