Sign up now for the 2013 Women’s 18 Hole League

CROSSVILLE — The golf season is fast approaching and this would be a good time to sign up for the 18 Hole Women’s Golf League. This is your opportunity to play golf with a great group of ladies, meet some new people, possibly win some money and just have a plain old fashioned good time. You are not even obligated to play every week, but can sign up in advance for the dates you are available.

All five of our courses have been rated and sloped by TGA to give women an additional option of tee choice. So this year the league has voted to have a “G” Flight for those ladies choosing to play from the green tees. This means that for individual games, a “G” player will be playing against other players in the “G” flight with her handicap based on the course slope and rating for the green tees. For team games, the “G” flight player’s handicap will have a second adjustment based on the difference between the two course ratings. As in the past, “G” players will be paired with ladies in other flights. This will give everyone an opportunity to have more fun playing golf.

Have you renewed your USGA GHIN fees? If not, be sure to do so at Druid Hills, soon! If you don’t have a handicap, you can sign up at Druid Hills Pro Shop and then turn in your scores from 5 rounds of golf to establish a trend. You must have an established USGA GHIN Handicap/Index with a current trend to play in our league and be eligible for weekly prizes.

You may join the league at any time, but remember that your application and fees must be in by April 1, 2013 in order for your name to appear in the 2013 League handbook. More information will be published in upcoming months in the Glade Sun and on our website  You may also call Sue Orris at 456-5988 for further information.
