Plan to attend Lifetime Learning fall classes

CROSSVILLE — A variety of Lifetime Learning classes will be held Monday through Friday, September through November.

Mark your calendars for registration Aug. 6, from 1-2 p.m. at the Fairfield Glade

Conference Center. These classes are open to Glade residents or non-Glade members of the participating churches. 

Some of the classes to be offered are as follows: 

• Plateau Stories Drama Workshop, re-enact stories  of early 20th century life in Cumberland County. 

No talent required. No formal performance. Taught by Tom Carter

• Backstage Tour of Cumberland County Playhouse. *Class limit 24.  Led by Dick Shilling.

• Our "Secret City" Neighbor Oak Ridge — The WWII atomic bomb project. Instructor Dick Hoglund

• A Visit to the Carson City Mint. Learn the history of coins from Ron Macfarlane who has collected coins for 60 years.

• Landscaping--landscape and design by Woody Gregory of Landscape Solutions.

• Beginning Drawing and Painting. *Class limit 15. *Extra fee. Instructors:  Art Guild Members.

• End-of-Life Decisions. Instructor, Mike Brown, financial planner.

• Healing with Nutrition: Let Food Be Your Medicine. Instructor, Pat Birnesser, R.N.

• Greeting Cards that Make a Difference. Instructor, Louise Goodman.

 Brochures are available for you to pick up in churches and business around Fairfield Glade. 

The brochures contain further explanations of the classes, cost, locations and times,  plus a registration form. Look for articles in this paper each week regarding more upcoming classes. Remember that classes are held on different days, at various times depending on which classes you choose.
