CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Fire Department received a call of a structure fire Wednesday night around 10:20 p.m. from central 911 Dispatch. The fire was called in by a resident who saw a mobile single wide home fully involved with flames coming out of every window the structure. The home at 12 Royal Terrace had been empty and vacant for some time. When the first arriving Engine and personal arrived on the scene they quickly went to work on the fire, and worked into the night to extinguish fire and any hot spots.

All available personnel and equipment responded quickly to the scene.

The source of the fire is not yet determined. This fire is under investigation which is being conducted by the Cumberland County Sheriff Department's fire investigator.

As a side note, some body in a black pickup ran over one of our five inch hose line that was supplying water to fight the fire. This is illegal and subject to a ticket. Please, if you come upon a fire and there is a hose in your way, do not run over the hose. Stop and turn around. These hoses cost more than $200 to replace, so please respect our fire lines.

Stay safe and keep your neighborhood safe as well.
