Rotary supports KOTR

CROSSVILLE — President Chris Celik, left, presents a check to Donna King, center. Looking on is Rotarian Deanna Magdich. King is executive director of Kids on the Rise, a non-profit organization that provides mentors to Cumberland County school children. The mentors provide meaningful experiences and relationships with local youth who often experience difficult day-to-day challenges. This program helps students stay in school, improve their self-esteem and encourage them to reach their full potential. Currently, 50 children are receiving mentor help, and there is a waiting list of 30 children waiting for a new mentor. For more information on becoming a mentor, check their website at kidsontherise.org or call 459-2388.
