Highlights from the June Community Club board meeting

President Bob Stackhouse announced that Fairfield Glade was named one of the 50 best master planned communities in America by the Where to Retire magazine July issue.

The St. George Pavilion is completed and the first fish fry was held Sunday, June 30. This year the weekly fish fry will be held on Sundays. The Druid Hills Cabana conceptual drawings are on the website for member comments and suggestions.

Bob Weber, General Manager, reported that Public Works Survey was positive. The only major dissatisfaction expressed by members concerned the roads. He stated that the chip and seal process is less expensive than asphalt. Due to road budget constraints that method will have to continue with the goal of maintaining the roads as well as is possible.

Pete Cahill, Treasurer, reported an excellent annual audit which was approved by the board. Delinquent lot inventory remains at 2,200 and there are currently 992 returned lots. Cash on hand May 31 was $3.7M. The club spreads those funds over five banks so that each account is protected by the $150,000 FDIC guarantee.

The Incorporation Committee has postponed the incorporation presentation to late July.

The board approved $18,500 to expand the Stonehenge golf cart parking area.
