The Cumberland County Tea Party will meet at the Community Complex (Fairgrounds) Crossville on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.). All concerned citizens who believe in limited government are invited to attend as we near what will undoubtedly be the most important election of our lifetime.
State Representative Cameron Sexton will talk about the Health Insurance Exchanges which are a part of state-regulated and standardized health care plans from which individuals may purchase health insurance eligible for federal subsidies under the Obama administration’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
A number of local Tea Party members have been traveling to Roanoke, VA to help register voters. These folks will be relating their very-interesting experiences.
The Cumberland County Tea Party is not part of any political party and no dues are collected. It is a diverse movement of citizens who believe in limited government as ordained in the Constitution of the United States of America, particularly the First and Second Amendments, and the Tenth Amendment. Its purpose is to attract, educate, organize and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure policies consistent with our core values of fiscal responsibility and free markets.
The importance of the upcoming election is monumental and all citizens who are not registered to vote, should do so before Oct. 8 when the registration period expires.
