Lincoln, Washington on display at ACPL

CROSSVILLE — Thanks to the generosity of William J. Kallas of Fairfield Glade and Chicago, we are able to provide a display, featuring two beautiful, framed illumination manuscript copies of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington in honor of President’s Day this month.

Kallas, a former mayor of the Chicago suburb City of Oakbrook Terrace, had given the original, valuable portraits to the Walt Disney Corporation Chairman Michael D. Eisner years ago. Loved and admired,  Eisner had the manuscripts exquisitely framed and placed on display in their Walt Disney Corporation Headquarters in Burbank, CA. Due to their popularity, prints of the originals are for sale at the Disney World’s Epcot Center in Orlando, FL.

We are honored to have temporary loan of these beautiful prints for all to see on the landing of the library’s grand staircase.
