Dartmoor yields lots of bass

CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Bass Club recently held its third tournament of the year on Lake Dartmoor. Thirty-six fishermen participated and a total of 159 bass were caught and released. The weather ranged from light rain and windy to very gusty winds and temperatures from the 40's to the mid 60's. Water temperatures by the end of the tournament reached nearly 55 degrees. A total of 13 limits were weighed in. Baits used were primarily jigs, spinner baits, and a variety of plastics.   Results are as follows:

First Place –  Scottie Davenport (fishing alone) five bass with a total weight of 14.23 pounds (a new club record).

Second Place  –  Tom Teall and Mike O'Hara with five bass weighing 9.80 pounds.

Third Place  –  Jim Hajny and Richard Carpenter (new member) having five bass weighing 9.36 pounds.

Fourth Place  –  Ron Riccetti and guest (son Ron) with five bass weighing 8.59 pounds.

Fifth Place  –  John Upp and Joe Boggio with five bass weighing 8.01 pounds.

Big Bass honors went to Scottie Davenport with a 19 inch 3.93 pound bass. (Sorry no picture taken)

The Fairfield Glade Bass Club offers and opportunity for persons living in Fairfield Glade to participate in fun tournament bass fishing with others enjoying the same. Final thoughts, litter around Fairfield Glade takes away so much from the beautiful views that we all enjoy. A few minutes each day, simply picking up near your home would really help. Don't let trash take away from such a beautiful spring.
