FFG Ladies Club annual spring fashion show a huge success

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — “April in Paris” came to Fairfield Glade in the form of a fabulous, well-attended fashion show on April 2. The fashion show is one of the biggest fundraisers presented by the FFG Ladies Club in order to provide scholarships, enabling deserving students, both young and mature, to further their education. The Ladies Club is also a philanthropic organization well known for donating generously to the needs of the community.

Chairpersons Sharon Gee and Diane Wilmer did an outstanding job of putting together a great show. They were assisted by numerous committee members, and of course, our lovely models who are members of the club. They included: Mac Andersen, Irene Blackburn, Irene Harcourt, Pearl Harter. Gretchen Harvell, Billie Kelley, Judie Kleinfelt, Naiad Kuhlman, Gloria Lusk, Jackie McAfee, Marion Miner, Pam Oberle, Shirley Spall, Roberta Wascher and Kathie Whiffen. Fashions were provided by Belk Department Store at Turkey Creek with coordinating jewelry provided by Collage at the Village Green Mall.

The Ladies Club is extremely grateful to all the contributors who made this show possible. Major sponsors were: Dave Kirk Automotive, Edward Jones Investments, Business Cumberland, Crye-Leike Brown Realty, Heartland Florist and Landscape Solutions. Local merchants, too numerous to mention, provided many of the well-received door prizes. The Ladies Club thanks them all.

Please mark your calendars for the next big fundraising event: the Spring Marketplace on May 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and the Kitchen and Garden Tour entitled “Flower Pots and Kitchen Crocks” on May 17 only, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for the Kitchen and Garden Tour and will be available at the May Meeting or at Collage in the Village Green Mall. After May 10, tickets will increase to $15. For more information, please call Judy Lynn at 707-2854 or Harriet Weidner at 456-8131.
