Second 2013 World War II Veterans luncheon planned for April 26 The

CROSSVILLE — The second luncheon of the year honoring World War II veterans will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 26 at Shoney's Restaurant in Crossville. This will be the sixth luncheon since these gatherings began one year ago. Organizers are particularly interested in having those veterans who have not attended one of the previous luncheons to attend this meeting. More than 100 veterans of World War II representing all military branches reside in Cumberland County. Veterans, spouses and other family members are requested to contact hosts Bill and Nancy Oehlecker at 788-6222 or event coordinator Ed Lewis at 335-8879 to register. As in the past, space is limited, as please call as soon as possible. The program will include a guest speaker as well as the awarding of many door prizes donated by local merchants. Wal-Mart Supercenter has provided many prizes at previous luncheons and will do so again. Frontier Communications has donated a cell phone for the April 26 luncheon. Readers are requested to inform any known World War II veterans of this event.
