The Best of Broadway featured at the Curtain Call

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — From “Chicago” to “Oklahoma” and all the way to the “South Pacific,” the love of Broadway shines past the Great White Way. If your “Annie” can’t stop listening to her “Grease” soundtrack, and “Oliver” thinks he is one of the “Jersey Boys” (even if he really does live in Crossville), then you need to make reservations for the January  “Broadway Comes to the Curtain Call” dinner show at the Curtain Call Dinner Theatre. “The Sound of Music” will fill the theatre as Frank Saxton on sax and Catherine Munklewicz on keyboard or Tony Zarola on guitar play while you enjoy your meal.

A “Wicked” menu is being created as this is “A Catered Affair” that will make you shout “Mama Mia!”  You’ll start with hors d’evours and a glass of “The Color Purple” grape juice drink (bring your own Manischewitz wine) and finish with a chef’s choice dessert fit for “Evita.”

The Curtain Call Players are pleased to bring the music and comedy of Broadway to Crossville!  On Thursdays, Jan. 9, 16 and 23; Fridays, Jan. 10, 17 and 24; and Saturdays, Jan. 11, 18 and 25, Broadway tunes will fill the Dinner Theatre. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner starts at 5:45 p.m. and the show starts at 6:45 p.m. Your cost for this dinner and show package is $28 and includes a catered meal from salad to dessert, all the coffee, tea and grape drink you desire and free popcorn during the show. You may also BYOB. The all-star cast of Dennis Donald, Chris Bennett, Ashley Krohn, Viviana Pabi, Rich Petersen and Terri Utsey are the main performers.

Dennis Donald has been singing and acting his entire life, touring with many professional acting troupes, working at the Cumberland County Playhouse, Electric City Playhouse and Wayside Theatre. He is a co-founder of DSquared Productions that has produced numerous shows in this area, including the highly popular dinner theaters which led to the opening of The Curtain Call Theatre, a lifelong dream. He has surrounded himself with the best performers the area has to offer and mentored several young rising stars.

Get your tickets early, mark your calendars and come to enjoy a night of wonderful music and comedy at the Curtain Call Dinner Theatre located in the VF-Crossville Outlet Center, 228 Interstate Dr. off I40, exit 320. Come early and check out the new stores! For information or ticket reservations call 337-7469. You can also pick up tickets at the theatre between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. We accept Visa, MasterCharge, Discover and American Express.
