Eye Centers of Tennessee to host blood drive Saturday

CROSSVILLE — Christa Thompson knows the need for blood. In an accident six years ago she used over a dozen pints of blood, not only save her life at the time but also during surgery after the accident. Christa, an employee of Eye Centers of TN, wants people to know “you never know when you or someone you love will need blood, so it’s necessary for the blood to be there before it is needed.” The need for blood is especially high entering the holiday season when donations tend to drop due to busy schedules, school and business breaks. Dr. Larry Patterson wants to help increase the blood supply for hospital patients by hosting a blood drive at the Eye Centers of TN, 15 Iris Lane on Saturday Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. “We know the need for blood never stops and are pleased we are able to reach out to the community, asking donors to attend the blood drive at our location.” says Dr. Larry Patterson.

Appointments can be made by calling Jean Ann Mayberry 931-797-7674 or online at RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: EyeCenter (no space between words).  All presenting donors will be automatically entered to win a $1,000 gift card!
