Lions Only Golf Tournament to place skill on putting

By Ken Steadman

CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Lions Club Sept 7 Golf Tournament is a four-person, 18-hole scramble like most other tournaments; however, the Lions Tournament allows the use of any players tee shot on all holes, but requires each player to be a “designated putter” on three greens. This accounts for a total of 12 holes. Teams are to follow standard scramble putting rules on the remaining six holes.

This rule has been in effect for the past three years and players have expressed pleasure with this added challenge. You will receive a set of tournament rules the morning of the tournament.

Hole-in-one prizes will be offered on all par three holes: $5,000, No. 14; choose of premium electronics package, No. 12; choice from Taylor Made golf equipment, No. 8; and choice of airline tickets for two in the U.S.A., No. 3.

In addition, players will be offered a chance to purchase a closes-to-the-pin opportunity for $2 on Hole No. 3. The winner will receive 50 percent of the money collected.

Please pick up an entry form at Fairfield Glade pro shops for a day of fun and challenge.

Call Lion Darryl Wharton, 456-9124, or Lion Duane West, 484-3441 if you have any questions.
