New officers installed at St. Francis

CROSSVILLE — St. Francis of Assisi Council of Catholic Women (CCW) announces the installation of officers for the 2013-'14 Board of Directors of the organization. Pictured from left are Carol Stenger, secretary; Marie Labbe, president; Father John Dowling, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi; Judy Johnson, vice president and Carol Lamb, treasurer. Each woman will serve in their elected office for one year. The mission of St. Francis CCW is three fold: Spirituality Commission reinforces and supports service to the Catholic Church and the world through discipleship and spiritual growth; Service Commission works to address the needs and concerns of individual communities, supporting and enhancing family life within the Church and society; Leadership Commission’s purpose is to advance our mission to be the Catholic woman’s voice in our world today.

All women are welcome to join the group at its upcoming general meeting on Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. After refreshments and a business meeting, the group will be entertained with a special program, “Role of the Cantor, Choir & Congregation,” presented by Brian Bacon, music director and liturgist at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 7503 Peavine Road in Fairfield Glade.
