Spiro pendant class at PCAC on March 6

CROSSVILLE — Remember the fun-filled days of your youth when creating fascinating geometric patterns with your Spirograph was one of the greatest thrills in life? Well, now you can relive that sense of wonder and accomplishment and come away with a beautiful wirework pendant to show for it.

Take an exhilarating journey back in time with noted jewelry artist and designer Linda Farber as you create a three-dimensional Spiro Pendant. This innovative, fun two-hour class will start at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, at the Plateau Creative Arts Center, 451 Lakeview Dr., Fairfield Glade.

Using little more than a Swarovski rivoli bead (or other focal piece), a notched-edge washer and a length of craft wire, you will create your very own wire-wrapped pendant, reminiscent of those old pen doodles made with your Spirograph gear set. This project is as much fun for the novice wire worker as it is for the experienced jewelry crafter.

Students will need to purchase a materials kit for $15; this fee is payable directly to the instructor at the start of class. Each kit contains sufficient materials to complete two dazzling Spiro Pendants.

Cost for the Spiro Pendant class is $17 for Art Guild members; $22 for non members. Register at the PCAC or call 707-7249.
