CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church Ladies Club hosted a Christmas party on Dec. 7 at the Crab Orchard Elementary School. The annual event was for the First Grade classes of Mrs. Denton, Mrs. Sanderson and Mrs. Hill. The children decorated Christmas cookies and were entertained by the reading of several Christmas stories by Pastor Will and Pam Wells, Pastor Lanita Monroe and William Pride. The children played Christmas Bingo while waiting for their much anticipated visit with Santa Claus. They each had a turn to visit with Santa and give him their “wish list” for Christmas day. A “goodie bag” filled with Christmas candy, school supplies, puppets and a fun workbook was given to each first grader. The children were delighted and hopeful that Santa would make their Christmas wishes come true.

Santa’s other helpers included Karen Doughty, Sarah Testerman, Star Cox, Linda Desmond, Karen Finley, Kathy Kithcart, Margie Lokey, Judy and Bruce Wicinski, Barb Roberts, Karen Saunders, Karen Shipman, Terry Henry (photographer), Bob and Jan Baas (also known as Santa and Mrs. Claus), Shirley Spall (chairperson), and Ann Swan. Wilma Roth, Ann Swan, Gayle Likens and Barb Paepke are the crafters that created the adorable puppets for the children’s goody bags. All of the helpers went home feeling the joy of Christmas.
