— Fairfield Glade resident Ed Lewis was among the nine Tennessee residents honored as "Statesmen of the Year" at the Tennessee Republican Party's annual Statemen's Dinner on July 12 in Nashville.

The reception and dinner, held at the new Music City Center, was attended by more than 1,400 party members and guests. Special guests included U. S. Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander, Governor Bill Haslam and Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey, the state's seven Republican representatives in the U. S. House, and many members of the state legislature, including State Representative Cameron Sexton of Crossville.

Lewis's recognition was for "Statesman of the Year for the Sixth Congressional District of the U. S. House of Representatives," an honor awarded by Congresswoman Diane Black. Cumberland County is one of 18 counties in the Sixth District. Lewis has served as President of the Fairfield Glade Republican Club since 2004 and is a member of the party's Cumberland County Executive Committee. His award was for his service and contributions to the party during the 13 years he and his wife Marjorie have resided in Cumberland County.
