CROSSVILLE — The Cumberland County Veterans Council will sponsor a Memorial Day Ceremony Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Cumberland County Memorial Veterans Park across the street from the Cumberland County Courthouse. The Ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. There will be a guest singer and special guest speakers during the event.

Prior to the ceremony, the Cumberland County Band will perform several patriotic songs from 10:30 to 11.

The downtown area of Crossville, including Main Street blocked off for the ceremony. Please consider arriving early. Although there will be some seating available, everyone is encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

This is an invitation to everyone in and around the community and surrounding counties to come and celebrate and honor our veterans.

This federal holiday has been observed annually in a ceremony designed to honor the men and women who have died, in all wars, while serving in the United Stated Armed Forces. This is our way as a community to express our love and appreciation for them. The ceremony is dedicated to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives and to whom we will always pay tribute and honor.

For more information about the Memorial Day Ceremony, please call the Veterans Service Office of Cumberland County at 456-0090.
