United Fund asking for donations

American Legion meeting changed
Because of the holidays, American Legion Post 163 will not meet Jan. 2. The meeting will be Jan. 9. Dinner will be at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow. Post 163 is at 1446 South Main St. (Hwy. 127 S).
Free Medicare help on Jan. 6
SHIP representatives from the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability will be at the Fairfield Glade Resident Services building, 4929 Peavine Rd. (near Food City), Jan. 6 and 13 from 9 a.m. to noon to help counsel on any Medicare questions, abuse or concerns. Please contact SHIP at 1-877-801-0044 for an appointment or questions. SHIP/SMP covers all 14 Upper Cumberland counties.
Piecemakers to meet Jan. 8
The Cumberland County Piecemakers Quilt Guild will have its first meeting of 2014 on Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at the 127 South Senior Center on Hwy. 127 in Crossville. All quilters are welcome. For more information, contact President Marvell Stevens at 787-8788.
Korean War vets meeting canceled
Cmdr. Bob Johnston has canceled the January business meeting due to the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference being closed. Being of great importance, Cmdr. Johnston has scheduled a meeting of the scholarship committee at his home for the same time of the usual meeting: Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m.
Corvette Club to meet Jan. 9
The Plateau Corvette Club meeting for the month of January has been changed because of the New Year holiday. The meeting will be Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Crossville Outlet Mall meeting room.
