The fishing is getting better

CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Bass Club recently fished Tournament Two, held at Lakes Malvern and Pomeroy, with more quality fish being caught and released than in the previous tournament held on the same lakes. The water temperature was very near 50 degrees Farenheit, and the wind was not too bad. The primary baits used were jigs, plastic craws, creature baits and Senkos. In total, 19 fishermen participated, with a total of 26 bass being caught and released. The results are as follows:

First Place – Lee Murray and Dave Hixson, with five bass having a total weight of 12.15 pounds

Second Place – George Godsey and Ron Riccetti, with five bass weighting 8.97 pounds

Third Place – Bob Callis and Colby Ardis, with three bass weighing 3.55 pounds

Fourth Place – John Upp and Richard Green, with two bass weighing 1.38 pounds

Fifth Place – Ed Wolters, with two bass weighing 1.24 pounds

Big Bass Honors went to Lee Murray, having a 19 inch 3.13 pound bass.

Persons interested in the sport of bass fishing should visit the club's web site at www.time2meet.com/ffgbassclub or come to a Bass Club meeting the last Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at the Community Church on Snead Dr. at 7 p.m.

One last comment: Lots of trash is being discarded from vehicles in the Glade. With spring nearly here, it's time to try to clean up as much of this trash as possible. If you are out walking or taking your dog for a walk, grab a small trash bag and pick-up what is there. Let's be proud of where we live.
