At the Dec.13 meeting, the FGCC Board of Directors responded to member input from the Nov. 29 town hall meeting by lowering the cash balance planned for 2013 from $2,500,000 to $2,000,000. The board also decided to use cash funds to pay for the 2013 amenity improvements instead of using the bank credit line. The amenity projects for 2013 will be accomplished for only $415,000 instead of the original budget of $490,000. Also, priorities will be on the deferred maintenance items.
The board announced that $850,000 will be applied to the debt principal during 2013 that will reduce the club’s debt below $8M. Approval of the 2013 Proposed Budget was unanimous. At the Nov.29 town hall meeting an FGCC member complimented the board of directors for following the member amenity priorities survey.
A resolution was passed by the board to rename the Property Transfer Fee to be the Amenity Reserve Fee. All future fees will be deposited into that account. The Tier ‘A’ fee will increase from $200 to $600 April 1, 2013 to give realtors time to adjust to the change. Tier A/B increases from $100 to $200. There is a special exception to the fee for certain property transfers within 12 months. If a member sells an FFG property and closes on another property in FFG within 12 months after the previous closing, the Amenity Reserve Fee will be waived.
The Engine #5 Campaign has been going well. Misty Keyes, Wyndham representative on the board, presented a $5000 check to the Volunteer Fire Department from Wyndham and Fairfield Homes. Also, the FGCC board of directors has budgeted a $30,000 donation for the Engine #5 Campaign.
Jim Etzel announced a special event for the Engine #5 Campaign. Ruby Tuesday has a corporate “Community Give Back program” which assists local communities with donations. The Give Back event at Ruby Tuesday is Dec. 21, 22, and 23. Present the flyer to your server and Ruby Tuesday will donate 20 percent of your food bill to the Engine #5 Campaign. Only one flyer per group bill is required. The flyer was sent via an email attachment to all members on the FGCC master list on Dec.14.
Appropriation requests from the 2013 budget approved: 2013 Ford Explorer for Public Safety $31,564, video system for the new vehicle $1,921, a new Druid Hills golf course pump station for $129,000 plus maintenance improvements on facilities $100,500.
The Board denied appeals on three ACC disapproval decisions: Installation of a Rubbermaid shed, metal roof over a side door and a roof vent with 4’ chimney stack instead of a direct vent fireplace.
Members were reminded to watch the FGCC bulletin in the Glade Sun for reduced restaurant hours at Legends and Stonehenge, the golf courses and Conference Center.
