Christmas in Afghanistan 2013

CROSSVILLE — Fairfield Glade Community Church Women’s Fellowship packed and shipped 135 Christmas boxes to soldiers of the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division stationed in the mountain region of Mehtar Lam Afghanistan in December.

Captain Jack Mooney reported the boxes arrived on Christmas Eve. When the soldiers woke on Christmas morning they discovered that Santa had not forgotten them. Each soldier had a special box and a Christmas card waiting for them.

"The women of the church have been sending boxes for the past five years and this was the largest mailing we have accomplished," reports Chairperson Pat Carter. "We could not have done it without the loving support of our congregation."

Special thanks to:

Russell B. Schubert LTC and the Upper Cumberland Chapter of the Military Officers

Association of America for their  donation.

The Crossville Dollar Tree and Peavine Rd Dollar General for all your help.
