Noted ventriloquist to return to RHA Oct. 22

CROSSVILLE — Back by popular request, internationally known ventriloquist David Turner and Friends, from Alexandria, TN, returns for the third time at the meeting of the Fairfield Glade Resident Homeowner’s Association on Monday, Oct. 22, at the Legends at 6 p.m. You will not want to miss this wonderful evening of entertainment.

David Turner has been entertaining for over 40 years for churches, church groups, civic clubs, conventions and corporations. He performed on the Saturday Night All-Star Show at the 2008 Vent Haven International Ventriloquist Convention. Terry Fator, winner of “America’s Got talent” in the second season, performed on Thursday night at the convention.

Since 1999, David has been chosen by the Armed Forces Entertainment to entertain our military troops and their families overseas. He has had the opportunity to humor our troops in over 13 countries. In addition, he has been seen on 60 Minutes while performing at a convention. If you would like to view him in a small spot, you can do that on his website at

As an incentive for Glade residents who have not joined RHA yet this year, you can join at the last two meetings of the year for $5  enabling you to fellowship with your fellow neighbors at two of the premier programs of the year — David Turner and Regina Stephens-Clark.

Dennis Donald, from DSquared Productions, will serve as president of RHA for 2013. He has already lined up some star attractions, leading off with locally known Brian Bacon, who is music director of the St. Francis of Assisi Choir and Conductor of the Cumberland County Community Band; Terri Utsey, Patrice Puglise, Terry Henderson and 16 year-old Taylor Ware and her friend Kate. It promises to be a great season!

Dues for 2013 will be $12 for the year, but if you join prior to Dec. 31, you will have the opportunity to join for $10 for 2013. We live in a great community and it is hoped you will want to share with your neighbors and become better acquainted.

Dues are RHA’s only source of funds to bring you this top-notch entertainment. We believe that for a community our size, you are enjoying a wonderful benefit, celebrating its 40th year in 2013.  The FFG RHA is designed specifically to provide a means for our residents to come together for fellowship and entertainment with a good meal and an attractive setting. The meals at the Legend have greatly improved and are just $17.00 including tax and tip. Featured on the menu for Oct. 22 will be grilled chicken marsala. A Heart Smart meal is available at your request.

Mark Oct. 22 date on your calendar and call in reservations by Oct. 18 to June or Larilee Frazier at 484-5914, or email to to reserve your seat. If you want to make up your own table of six or eight, you may do that when you make your reservations. A Social Hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m., with the program usually over by 8 p.m. You will also hear the latest from our Community Club President, Bob Stackhouse, and catch up on the latest news that is important to our community.

Also note that as a climax to the year, the sixth “RHA Resident of the Year” will be honored at the Nov. 26 meeting. In order to recognize the enormous amount of volunteering being done in the community, this award was initiated by RHA in 2007, honoring Larry and June Frazier as the first recipients.

Checks for dues may be mailed to RHA, Box 2017, Fairfield Glade, TN 38558, or they may be paid by check at the dinner meeting. It is requested that you pay your meals by check. Men are requested to wear jackets, but it is not mandatory  and everyone is asked to wear a name badge so others can learn to know you. Special RHA badges can be ordered at the meeting.
