Racquet Club holds Winter Championships

CROSSVILLE — The Fairfield Glade Racquet Center hosted their Winter Club Championships this past weekend. With lots of spins, volleys and course smashes, it was a great time for our members. The Club Championships are a great opportunity for our members to play a little competitive tennis to help improve their games and also a chance for many players to play and socialize with members they do not normally get to.

There were 35 total participants over 8 divisions- Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s 3.5 Doubles, Women’s 4.0+ Doubles and 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0+ Mixed Doubles. Depending on the size of the division players either played in a double-elimination format, round-robin format or best two out of three matches. Below is the list of winners:

3.0 Mixed Doubles-Jackie and Wilma Reynolds

3.5 Mixed Doubles-Ron Edwards and Marty Wennermark

4.0+ Mixed Doubles- Lori Brown and Mike Krabousanos

Men’s 3.5 Doubles- Dick Edwards and Ron Edwards

Women’s 3.5 Doubles- Diane Johnston and Marilyn Stubella

Women’s 4.0+ Doubles- Pat Tingle and Marcia McCay

Men’s Singles-John Ferguson

Women’s Singles-Sue Allen

I want to personally all of you who participated in the Winter Club Championships for making it such a great event! Look for the next Club Championships coming in June!
