William S. Prince Sr.
Nov. 24, 2008
William Scott Prince Sr., 82, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 24, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 28 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Father John Putnam officiating and Father James Ebright and Father John O'Niell assisting.
Mr. Prince was born in Portsmouth, OH, and spent his youth in Roanoke, VA. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy and served as an officer in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was a graduate of Virginia Tech in 1951 with a B.S. in electrical engineering and a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He was VP International Operations for United Engineers and Constructors a Raytheon Company in Philadelphia, PA. After retiring, he became a private consultant to the utility industry for six years.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; brother, James N. Prince of Pembroke, GA; sons, William Scott Prince Jr. of Vinton, VA, and Carlton F. Prince of Carrboro, NC; daughter, Deborah Prince of West Friendship, MD; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces, Gale M. Bless and Bonnie Bless.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lazarus House, 260 West 5th St., Cookeville, TN 38503, or to the Te Deum Foundation, 2767 London Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret L. Withey
Sept. 18, 1917 — Nov. 16, 2008
Margaret Lucille (Mullen) Withey, 91, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 16, 2008. A memorial service was held Dec. 2 at Fairfield Glade Methodist Church, with the Rev. Will Wells and the Rev. Lanita Pride officiating. Interment was in Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, FL.
Mrs. Withey was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Perquimans County, North Carolina, the daughter of Miles and Jonie Piland Mullen.
She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and David Philippe of Fairfield Glade, Norma Jean Hannigan of Addison, IL and Joy and Larry Cull of Hot Springs, AR; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Victoria Withey of Chicago, IL; sister, Eunice Jones of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Wayne Smith, Debbie Hannigan, Cindy Sue Hannigan, James Michael Hannigan, Devin and Britt Withey; and great-grandchildren, Fallon Smith, Samuel Smith, Joshua Zankowski, Melissa Zankowski, Diane Tucker, Cheryl Ann Tucker, Adam Hannigan and Molly Jean Hannigan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Withey; sisters, Ruth Spivey and Nellie Horton; and brother, William Mullen.
