Ron Iseli received FFG Lion of the Year award

The Fairfield Glade Lions Club selects a member each year for outstanding service and dedication. They recognize this member as “Lion of the Year.” Lion John Manning received the award last year and was asked to make this year’s presentation.

Manning stated that Ron Iseli joined the FFG Lions Club in 2002 and made a commitment to be involved in all areas of the club's activities. Iseli’s sponsor was Jim Seppala who was chairman of the eye testing program. Iseli became immediately active in this program as well as signing up for the school hearing test program.

It didn’t take Iseli long before he was a participant in the cheese sale, White Cane and Salvation Army bell ringing program. Along came the Lions Healthcare Guide and Iseli was out selling advertising space to local merchants. In 2008 he volunteered to serve as the chairman of the annual Golf Benefit Tournament. Under his leadership the club gained the one of the most successful results from a well-planned affair. Fortunately, Iseli has agreed to accept leadership again for the 2009 event on Oct. 3.

It was with great pride that Ron Iseli was honored with the 2008-2009 Lion of the Year Award.
