Doyne G. Sunderman
Dec. 27, 1922 — June 17, 2009
Doyne G. Sunderman, 86, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 12:35 a.m. in Provena St. Anne Care Center. A private celebration of Doyne's life will take place at a later date.
Mr. Sunderman was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Bible Grove, IL, the son of Orville and Vera (Specht).
He married Jane Samuelson on May 3, 1947, in Elgin, OH. She preceded him in death in 2008.
Doyne served in the Navy and was an avid golfer. He spent 27 years in Tennessee before returning to Rockford.
Survivors include his daughter, Vicki (Bill) Price; and grandsons, David (Katy) Price of Milwaukee, WI, and Alan Price of Rockford.

U.S. Thompson
June 5, 2009
U.S. Thompson, 70, of Fairfield Glade, went home to be with the Lord June 5, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 22, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 5551 S. Bradley Road, Santa Maria, CA, with Pastor Bruce McLain officiating. All family and friends are invited to attend.
Mr. Thompson was born in Lafollette, TN. He served in the United States NAW from 1956-1960. He was employed by the United States government in 1963. He retired in 1999 from Vanderndurg Air Force Base in Lompco, CA, as a quality assurance manager.
He gave his heart to the Lord at a very young age and served the Lord all of his life. He was a former member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Santa Maria, CA. He was an active member of Pine Eden Baptist Church in Crossville. He loved gospel music and loved to sing in the choir. He volunteered at the Military Memorial Museum in Crossville.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Juanita (McGhee) Thompson; sons, Tim and Robby Thompson of Santa Maria, CA; grandchildren, Chalise, Brian, Samantha, Tyler and Cassandra of Santa Maria, CA; and sister, Mildred Teague of Dayton, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella (Ballard) Thompson; brothers, Hodge Standfield, Johnny Standfield and Jimmy Thompson; and sister, Reba Letner.
