The Fairfield Glade Community Club Election Committee has announced the election of two property owner directors at-large in the 2009 election.
Applications for these positions will be available June 1 at the FGCC Administration Office on Peavine Road, or applicants may call (931) 484-3780 to receive an application by mail. The completed and signed application must be returned to the election committee at the FGCC office no later than 5 p.m. CDT Friday, June 26. Applications are required, as write-in candidates are not permitted. Requirements for the director at-large position are stated as "any member in good standing at time of submission of application who has owned real property at Fairfield Glade for at least three years prior to the date of the next annual meeting of members is qualified to run."
"In good standing" is defined as not being delinquent with respect to the payment of dues, fees and assessments. The member must be willing to attend all board meetings and give additional time as required to prepare for said meetings.
The 2009 annual meeting will be Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center, at which time the results of the 2009 election will be announced.
Each applicant will be asked to prepare a biographical statement of 400 words or less and will be asked to respond to specific questions related to serving on the board. Submission of a photograph with the application is also required.
A town hall meeting will be held prior to the mailing of ballots to allow voting members the opportunity to meet the candidates. Ballots will be mailed to each voting member the week of Aug. 10 and all ballots must be received no later than Sept. 11 in order to be eligible to be counted.
Additional information regarding the election process will appear in future issues of the Glade Sun.
