The Fairfield Glade Community Club (FGCC) election committee has announced the election of two property owner directors at-large in the 2008 election. The second three-year terms of directors David Prigg and Bob Spencer expire this year, and neither is eligible for a third consecutive term.
Applications for these positions will be available June 2 at the FGCC administrative office on Peavine Rd., or applicants can call 484-3780 to receive an application. The completed and signed application and biography must be returned to the election committee at the FGCC office no later than 5 p.m. CDT Friday, June 27. Applications are required, as write-in candidates are not permitted.
Requirements for the director at-large position are stated as "any member in good standing at time of submission of application who has owned real property at Fairfield Glade for at least three years prior to the date of the next annual meeting of members is qualified to run."
The 2008 annual meeting will be Friday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. at the FG Community and Conference Center, at which time the results of this year's election will be announced.
"In good standing" is defined as not being delinquent with respect to the payment of dues, fees and assessments. The member must be willing to attend all board meetings and give additional time as required to prepare for said meetings.
Each applicant will be asked to prepare his or her own biographical statement of 500 words or less and will be asked to respond to specific questions related to serving on the board.
Ballots will be mailed to each voting member the week of Aug. 11 and all ballots must be postmarked no later than Sept. 12 in order to be counted.
A town hall meeting will be held in early August to allow voting members the opportunity to meet the candidates.
Additional information regarding the election process will appear in future issues of the Glade Sun.
