Robert D. Edwards

Robert "Bob" D. Edwards, 64, of Fairfield Glade was born into his eternal life with the Lord April 21, 2008. A memorial service was held April 25 at Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church, with Dr. Leonara Markham officiating.

Mr. Edwards was born and raised in Vandalia, IL, and as a young man, he left the Midwest to serve in the Navy. In 1978, he married his beloved wife, Lori. He was so proud to be his son, Mike's, baseball manager from little league to the minor leagues, but not too proud that he wouldn't play "pretty, pretty princess" with his little girl, Kaytee. He was employed at Adco in California until he moved to retire to Fairfield Glade in 2004.

He was an active member of the congregation of Fairfield Glade Baptist Church. His love for the Lord was obvious as evidenced by his involvement in his church, especially the children's ministry and the Praise Team.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lori; son, Michael (Kate) Edwards; daughter, Kathryn Edwards; stepchildren, Lisa (Dan) Alexander and Matt Schmeski; grandchildren, Hannah, Collin, Josh, Chris, Michael and Kyle; sister, Sandra (Ron) Fischer; brother, Ron Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralston and Mabel Edwards; niece, Dawne Lehmann; and great-nephew, Cory Guetterman.

He was a friend to all with his generous heart, his ever present smile and his infectious laugh and sense of humor. Although he will be greatly missed by family and friends, they take great comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Edwards' memory to Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church Building Fund, 5160 Peavine Road, Fairfield Glade, TN 38571.
