FG Bass Club completes first three 2008 tournaments

The Fairfield Glade Bass Club has fished its first three tournaments of the 2008 season. Fishing has been tough due to weather and water temperatures, but members caught some good fish.
Tournament #1 at Lake St. George produced 25 bass weighing a total of 31.4 lbs., including eight bass over 14 inches. Dave Hixson and John Smith won first place with five bass weighing 7.7 lbs. Dave Hixson’s big fish of the tournament weighed 4.18 lbs. Second place was won by Lee Murray and his partner, Sam Thiessen, with five bass weighing 7.15 lbs. Third place went to Jim White and Steve Ferrell, with five bass weighing 5.85 lbs.
Tournament #2 at Lake Glastowbury was tougher, with only six bass weighing a total of 11.26 lbs. caught; however, five of the six were over 14 inches. First place went to Jim White and Charlie Adams with two bass weighing 6.11 lbs. Jim White had the big fish, weighing 4.3 lbs. Second place was won by John Siemer and his partner, Mike O’Hara, with two bass weighing 2.39 lbs. Third place went to Dave Hixson and Steve Ferrell, with one bass that weighed 1.41 lbs.
Tournament #3 was at Lake Catherine, making it a challenge for most members. Frank Fiedler and his partner, Jim McCulloch, took first place, with three bass weighing 2.85 lbs. Second place went to Lee Murray and his partner, Dan Fugiel, with three bass weighing 2.68 lbs. Bob Suttles and Dan Beebe won third place with two bass weighing 2.8 lbs. The big fish of the tournament was caught by Tom Teall and weighed 1.63 lbs.
