On Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Tennis Center, along with the USTA/TN and Upper Cumberland Community Tennis Association, will host a "Tennis Block Party." This is a free event with games and prizes for all ages. Some of the activities will include Quick Start tennis, hitting targets for prizes, Challenge the Pro, and racquet demos. In addition, a raffle will be held, with such prizes as lessons with our new pro, William Taylor; discount coupons from the pro shop; and assorted merchandise from the pro shop. We need volunteers, so please sign up in the pro shop.
The Bucky Cantrell Clay Court Championships tournament is scheduled for May 22-25. Divisions include men’s and women’s singles and doubles, 50s 60s and 70s as well as mixed 50s and 60s. New divisions this year include senior NTRP men’s and women’s doubles 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0. Players can sign up online or at the Tennis Center.
New merchandise has arrived in the pro shop. Stop by to check out the deals!
If any men are interested in a 3.5/4.0 fixed partner league, please contact John Hillner, at 484-4475, and let him know your availability. Players would play with the same partner for 12 weeks and standing would be kept. This league would take place on the clay courts depending on court availability.
