Returning sponsors of Member-Member Tournament announced

Dave Kirk of Dave Kirk Automotive, Dr. Helen Hallenbeck of the Crossville Hearing Center, Century 21 Fountain Realty LLC, and Cumberland County Bank have all committed their support for the 2008 Member-Member Golf Tournament to be held at Heatherhurst Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16-17. We are pleased and proud of our long-term relationship with these sponsors and others, yet to be announced. Without their participation and support, this tournament would not be possible. We ask all players and everyone in the Glade to patronize all of our sponsors whenever their goods and services are needed.

The two-day event is a men’s team and women’s team best ball competition with low gross and low team scores within major flights competing for first, second, and third places. The overall low net team score in the Jack Nicklaus and Nancy Lopez flights this year will be crowned the "Member-Member Champions."

A pre-tournament reception will be held in the new Fairfield Glade Community Center on Friday, Aug. 15. It will afford an opportunity for the players and their significant other not only to enjoy refreshments, but to meet and thank all of the sponsors of the tournament.

The entry fee for this year’s tournament is $85 and includes two days of golf with cart, breakfast and lunch both days, gift bag, prize money, a golf shirt or a dozen golf balls and your participation in the pre-tournament reception.

To both our men and women tournament participants: If you want to verify your shirt size before filling out your entry form, we invite you to the Druid Hills Golf Club pro-shop to try on shirts for size. Any questions, please contact pro-shop personnel.

Entry into the tournament this year can be accomplished through the Internet. Log on to www.sunflowergolf.com/membermember.htm and highlight the "Entry Form" icon and follow the instructions. In addition, this site will contain current tournament information as well as sponsor Web-site linkage. Entry forms are also now available at all Glade golf pro-shops.

Each participant must submit a current, valid and certifiable handicap index from an authorized USGA golf club or golf association. Players must also be a member in good standing of the Fairfield Glade Community Club.
