While warmer breezes and longer daylight hours promise the arrival of springtime, thoughts of the good old summertime are sure to be a day brightener, especially when it is envisioned as a day on the golf course! With these thoughts in mind, plans are already underway for the 16th annual Knights of Columbus Charity Golf Tournament.
The Crossville Knights of Columbus members will sponsor this event on Wednesday, June 11, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Deer Creek Golf Course. This amateur event, using a modified scramble format is open to men, women and couples.
Each year, proceeds from this event benefit Cumberland County charities. In 2007, over $7,000 resulted from this tournament.
Entrance fee is $65 per person or $260 per team. This includes green fees, golf cart , gift bag, door prizes, mulligan, as well as an awards dinner at Deer Creek. Depending on the number of teams, there will be flights and $300 in prize money for the first-place team, with $100 given to the second-place team in the flights.
Entry forms are available at all Cumberland County golf courses. If you would like more information or an entry form, please contact Joe Dickens, 484-9850; Fred Laufenberg, 484-2486; or Phil Pointer, 456-1145.
Now is an opportune time to get a foursome together or sign up to be assigned to a foursome. Be sure to mark June 11 on your calendar!
