The American Cancer Society is pleased to announce that Cumberland Medical Center has been recognized with a Company of Excellence award. The honor is bestowed on companies that partner with the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.
The award materials noted Cumberland Medical Center’s support services for cancer patients, promotion of health and wellness in the community, and participation in Relay for Life.
“This award is certainly well-deserved,” said Donna McBride, area director of the American Cancer Society. “As a community-based organization, the American Cancer Society relies on corporate partners such as Cumberland Medical Center to help us further our mission of eliminating cancer.”
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
“Cumberland Medical Center has not only increased awareness within their company of the American Cancer Society and our mission, but they have helped us do this within the entire community,” concluded Sandy Carr, American Cancer Society representative.
