Anderson named president of CMC

The board of directors of Cumberland Medical Center announced recently that Ed Anderson has been named president of Cumberland Medical Center.

Anderson worked at CMC for over 40 years, beginning in the laboratory in 1959. During his employment at CMC, Ed Anderson has served as the administrative director of the laboratory, vice president of professional services, senior vice president, president, and most recently a member of the CMC board of directors. He retired as president of CMC on Dec. 31, 2000.

“I believe in quality patient care and treating our patients as we would want to be treated. I look forward to being back at CMC and working with everyone and the opportunities that we have to deliver quality care to this community and its residents,” said Ed Anderson, president of Cumberland Medical Center.

Jim McMackin elected to take early retirement from Cumberland Medical Center. Upon McMackin’s request for retirement, the CMC board of directors asked Ed Anderson to fill the president’s slot in the interim. McMackin served as president/CEO of Cumberland Medical Center from July 2000 through March 10, 2008. “I wish Mr. McMackin the best in his retirement. CMC thanks him for his years of service to the facility,” Anderson concluded.
