December FOL meeting to feature music by Brian Bacon

CROSSVILLE — At the Dec. 6 meeting of the Friends of the Art Circle Public Library, Christmas music will be provided by Brian Bacon, music director at St.Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Glade and conductor of the Cumberland County Community Band. A brief business meeting will start at 11 a.m. and the annual Christmas brunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. Please bring a dish to share as they kick off the holiday season.

Friends of the Art Circle Public Library meet the first Thursday of most months at 9:30 a.m. They always have refreshments and an interesting program. The first meeting in 2013 will be Jan. 3 and will feature book reviews.

The organization exists to help the library through volunteering and raising money. Their bookstore brings in more than $1,000 each month. Every time a book is bought at the store or one of their book sales, the money is helping the library acquire new volumes. If you join the Friends, dues go straight to support library programs.

They also hold a Bling Sale and sell Kroger Cares and Food City cards. Guests are always welcome at their meetings.
