Submitted

CROSSVILLE — Santa will make his annual appearance at the Crossville Model Railroad Club on Monday, Dec. 2. Santa’s arrival will be the finale of the Polar Express event that draws kids and their families to the Crossville Outlet Mall to kick off the holiday season.

This free event will start at noon with 4,500 square feet of model trains running all day in the club, decorated for the holiday season with lights, a tree and Christmas Village. At 6 p.m. Mrs. Claus will read The Polar Express to the gathered children, while a scale model of the famous train runs on nearby tracks. Then the big guy in the red suit will arrive to sit in his sleigh and let the young ones sit on his lap while they tell him what they want for Christmas.

A professional photographer will be on hand to take free photos of the children with Santa as the club’s gift to the community.

The Crossville Model Railroad Club is located in the Crossville Outlet Mall, exit 320 off I-40, next to Subway in the north end of the mall, and is open six days per week. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 and Saturday from 10 to 5. Admission is always free.

Also included is the Upper Cumberland Railroad Society museum, open to the public free of charge. For information email cmrrc@juno.com, call (931) 742-0151 or see the club’s website at www.crossvillemodelrrclub.org.
