Shanks Center goes pink Friday

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — Craft it, Paint it, Sew it, Bead it, Write it, Play it, Eat it — in Pink

All of this will be happening as a special event at the Shanks Center for the Arts, Friday, October 18, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to raise awareness about breast cancer. Come watch artisans at work and purchase pink items for a donation to the Upper Cumberland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer

The event continues to grow as artisansadd their donated items, time, and skill to the project.

In the morning, Evelyn Hargis will wrap a bottle as a suncatcher, Chuck Jensen will paint on a large canvas on the porch, and Helen (Herbie) Naumann will sketch fun-figure-drawings of anyone wanting to sit for a half-hour. The Weavers of the Cumberlands will be demonstrating in the afternoon. More exciting events continue to be added.

Items can be purchased for a cash donation or check made payable to Upper Cumberland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

The Shanks Center is at 140 N. Main Street, across from the Depot, Crossville TN. For more information, call (931) 787-1936.
