Reserve seating tickets for the 2013 USO (Uncle Sam’s Original) Show are now on sale at the Place Theatre in downtown Crossville. The community favorite will make its return Sunday, Nov. 10, with two performances at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Covering the eras of the '40s, '50s, '60s and early '70s and honoring veterans of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, audiences will take a musical step back in time. Bob Hope will once again swing his golf club to welcome such performers as Doris Day, Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Buddy Holly, James Taylor and introducing a Southern favorite, the clogging Sweet T’s. Back by popular demand, the New York City Rockets (Tellico Tappers) will take the stage to perform patriotic numbers.
Presented by the Crab-Orchard Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution the USO Show honors and pays tribute to all veterans who served the country faithfully during wartime as well as peace time.
Proceeds from the show support the chapter’s historic preservation, educational and patriotic activities in the community of Cumberland and Bledsoe counties.
Labeled as one of the best entertainment values in Cumberland County, last year’s shows were both sellouts. Reserved tickets are $12 and may be purchased online at www.palacetheatre-crossville.com/ or by calling the Palace Theatre at 484-6133.
