Eagle Scouts honored

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — Attaining an Eagle scout award is the highest and most prestigious award in Boy Scouting. Boy Scout Troop 174 keeps pumping out Eagle scouts, and on Sept. 1, Troop 174  had another Eagle Court of Honor for the latest Eagle scout, CJ Houston.

It has been a wonderful year for Houston as he keeps racking up those achievements one after another. After graduating Stone Memorial High School this year with high honors, he got accepted to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Earning his Eagle Scout award was like winning the triple crown. Everyone who knows Houston claims he is a wonderful person and see only great things from him. He plans on majoring in biomedical engineering.

His project was to provide swings for Meadow Park Lake.

Boy Scout Troop 174 (ages 11 through 17) meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Venturing (young men and women who are 14 through 20 and have completed the eighth grade) meets on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. For  more information on either of these organizations, contact Scoutmaster David Dial at 200-5353. Cub Scout Pack 174 (ages 7 through 10 or grades 1-5) meets on Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. For more information on Cub Scouts, contact Cubmaster Alan Kantor at  200-9038.
