Talent show for all ages

CROSSVILLE — The Fair Park Senior Center is currently getting ready for its next big fundraiser. A lot of folks are signing up for the fourth annual Crossville’s Got Talent Show. Tickets are now on sale for the show, which will be Friday, April 25, at the Palace Theatre. Someone will be winning $300, $100 or $50.

To sign up or to get tickets,  please call Tina at 484-7416. Tickets are on sale at the senior center and 5th Street Marketplace. This year’s sponsors are Simonton’s Cheese House, Antiques Collectibles and Mayberry Furniture and Mayberry Interiors Stores.

You might like to head over to the Cumberland County Community Complex for the Community Health Fair, which will be  happening Tuesday, April 8, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., with all kinds of health screenings until 10 a.m. It is free with all kinds of door prizes, exhibits, speakers and lunch. It is being sponsored by the Cumberland Medical Center and Fair Park Senior Center.

Tommy Cole is a great volunteer for the senior center. He is also the van trip driver. For next month he has planned to take everyone to Knoxville for some fun one-day trips. The Rossini Italian Festival is hosted by the Knoxville Opera. The free annual festival and International Street Fair has been held on Gay St. in downtown Knoxville for the past 12 years. There will be lots of food vendors, artisans exhibits, music and fun with more than 500,000 people. This trip will be Saturday, April 12.

Then on Thursday, April 24, the seniors will be touring seven of the dogwood trails in Knoxville with a good lunch. On Monday May 5 they will head back to Knoxville for a tour of the Tennessee Theater. Get on board for any of these trips today. You must pay at time of sign up.
