Fourth of July Children's Parade coming soon

CROSSVILLE — The Fourth of July Children’s Parade is coming. Children of all ages are invited to join in the fun as they celebrate the 237th birthday of the United States of America.

The Crab-Orchard Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is pleased to sponsor the 11th annual Fourth of July Children’s Parade beginning at the Palace Theatre and continuing down Main Street to the Crossville Depot. The parade will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4. They encourage all to dress patriotically as they parade down Main St., or ride a decorated tricycle or bicycle. You are welcome to take on the persona of George Washington, Uncle Sam, Betsy Ross or some other character from America’s past.

Parents or grandparents are welcome to pull their youngster in a wagon or push them in a stroller. Children’s battery-powered vehicles will be allowed; however, no gasoline powered vehicles will be allowed.

Gather at 9:30 p.m. at the Historic Palace Theatre to “strut your stuff,” show your patriotism and love of country and enjoy a good time. For additional information call Lynn Speich at (865) 354-0809 or Charlotte Reynolds, at 484-2630.
