The Fair Park Senior Center Eight Ball Pool League winners for 2013 was Roy South’s team, which won the most games out of the eight different teams that has been playing every week since November 2012 to April 2013. Mike Livingston’s team came in second place, and Gene Medley’s team came in third this year. Any senior in the county can come and enjoy the pool room every weekday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. free.
May is Older Americans Month, and artist Thom Eckert is a prime example of a person who learned to paint after his retirement. He continues to take workshops by other artist to enhance his work. He will be holding another watercolor session on Monday, May 20 at the center. The cost to you will be only be $10. The Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville sponsors the arts at Fair Park.
Ladies, come and make your own all-natural bath and beauty products, like soaps, scrubs, salts, oils and lotions. Aroma therapist Lynnea Sedrel Donai is offering a great smelling workshop this month. Use natural, botanical ingredients to create a wide array of products for many uses and skin types. Learn traditional, time-honored recipes while adding your own unique touch. Make a lovely gift basket and have fun doing it. The workshop will be Monday, May 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $25 to cover the all the materials. Get signed up.
Learning to use a computer can be a real challenge for seniors. Sign up to learn the basics of computers in easy to understand, hands-on instruction. Fair Park will be offering basic computer in five morning classes in one week for $25. Please call Tina to sign up at 484-7416 to get in the next class.

The annual Crossville’s Got Talent Show at the Palace Theatre, a fundraiser for Fair Park, is always a great variety show, if you are the type who enjoys live entertainment. The auditions were held this past weekend and they really have a full show of talented people this year. There could be some of them you may know that you could come and vote to be the winners.
Caris Healthcare in Crossville is the sponsor for the show. Caris is one of the top hospice care service providers in the nation and is available to any one diagnosed with a life-limiting condition.
Also providing help with the prizes are Six Flags over Georgia, Wilderness at the Smokies, and the Cumberland County Playhouse. Tickets are on sale at Fair Park for $10. So get yours before they are sold out.
There is always a lot to do for seniors to do at Fair Park Senior Center. It is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some extra activities at night, and is across the street from the Cumberland County Fairgrounds, 1433 Livingston Rd. in Crossville.
