Submitted

CROSSVILLE — Recently, the Memory Loss Care Group has been formed for the community. Meetings are held monthly at First Baptist Church, Fairfield Glade, 130 Towne Centre Way, (located behind Food City). Monthly meetings are planned for the second Thursday at 11 a.m. in Room 157 off Fellowship Hall.

Under the umbrella of dementia there are 70 different aspects or diseases affecting the brain. The purpose of the Memory Loss Care Group is to provide resources, speakers, share tips and support for those facing this challenge. If you are involved in ministry to those with memory loss or if you are concerned about a loved one, neighbor or friend who maybe affected by dementia, please join them or invite that friend or neighbor who could benefit from this group.

The next meeting will be Oct. 3 (schedule change to first Thursday to accommodate the speaker). Amanda Barlow, area director of Alzheimer’s Tennessee, will be available for this meeting. A DVD by Teepa Snow will be shown, and there will be discussion of the DVD as well as a time for questions and answers.

If you have questions or desire additional information, contact Margaret Brant at 484-9747 or email mbrant0428@frontiernet.net.
