The members of 127 South Senior Center met Friday, Sept. 13, for their usual bingo games, Bob Folger of State Farm furnishing the gifts and Gene Brown calling the numbers. There wasn't much chitchat that day as many seniors were enjoying the trip to Michigan.
Mary Bohrman, vice president, opened the regular meeting, with Sharon Hilton giving the prayer and John Bohrman leading the pledge to the flag.
Mary mentioned the upcoming trips; Oct. 8 to Dollywood; Nov. 26 to see Suite Surrender at the Cumberland County Playhouse and then to Gondola's for dinner; Dec. 4 to Nashville to see the famous Rockettes (this trip is sold out but you can see Jan Neitzke for a waiting list if you are interested); and April 6-12, 2014, to New Orleans; and September of next year to New Hampshire and Maine. Sign-up sheets are at the senior center.
Please remember those that are on the prayer list and the military. Bluegrass music is every Thursday evening at the senior center.
Bill and Lu Bullard presented a very interesting program about their Amtrak and other train trips with slides and movies. Bill said they have traveled with Amtrak in 27 states. He showed them some of his very old train cars.
After the table blessing, Sharon Hilton and her kitchen crew served delicious meatballs in a special pineapple and rice sauce. Many compliments.
Next week they will hear about the trip to Mackinac Island.
