On Saturday, May 4, the Hebbertsburg Community Center will feature the City Lites band. Does the name City Lites sound familiar? It should, because the group has been making music in this area for more than 25 years. Although they are mostly known for their Big Band/ballroom dancing style of music, these guys are versatile, and, they will show off that versatility on May 4 when they perform '50s and '60s lite rock as well as blues and country (and probably some ballroom dance music, too, if asked).
Do you like guitar? That's Marty Gibson's part. How about more guitar? Add Flavie Miller. Maybe drums are your favorite? Wade England will amaze you. Have a weakness for the saxophone? Glen Holverson will wow you, and when you add them together, you are in for a special treat.
Mark Saturday, May 4 on your calendar now, invite some friends and claim a table. Plan to arrive early because they are expecting a standing-room only crowd.
Whether you like to dance or just appreciate listening to good music that brings back memories or maybe enjoy people watching, this is clean family entertainment and you will have a great time.
The dance will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hebbertsburg Community Center. There is a $3 donation at the door for folks over 16 years old, while children get in free. They will be serving a homemade spaghetti dinner, including bread and beverage for $6, with desserts and additional beverages $1 each. Plan to join the Fun and Famous Cakewalk for $1 a chance, with the cakes provided by talented Hebbertsburg ladies.
